Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day is a day of remembrance for pregnancy loss and infant death which includes but is not limited to miscarriagestillbirthSIDS, or the death of a newborn. It is observed annually in the United States and Canada and, in recent years, in the United Kingdom, on October 15.
The day is observed with remembrance ceremonies and candle-lighting vigils, concluding with the International Wave of Light, a worldwide lighting of candles at 7:00 p.m.

Today I am doing a special manicure in rememberance of all the angel babies out there. It is said that 1 out of every 4 women experience this loss. I never knew about this day until I became that 1. I found out I was pregnant on January 31st. This would be the first child together for my fiance and I. At my 12 week appointment on March 21st, I found out the baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks. They called it a "blighted ovum"/missed miscarriage. I was so devastated and in shock. I could not stop crying. I went to that appointment alone because it was my fiance's first day of his new job. 2 days later i went to the hospital for the D&C.

This month is hard for me because October 5th was my due date. That day I sat at home all day sad and crying. But i know my day will come when we have a little bundle of joy to add to our beautiful family.

O.P.I. What's with the cattitude and Sparrow me the drama,  ChG  Fairy Dust

So this is for all the families who suffered the loss of their little angels and mine too and to always remember our angels.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this because its not mainly about polish. It was very hard and painful   to talk about it but I want people that have gone through this, to know that they are not alone. After it happened, my emotions were all over the place. I was sad, blaming myself, angry. I couldnt even be around my sister-n-law because she was pregnant. But what I found that helped me were the pregnancy forums. I would always look in the pregnancy loss section and read peoples comments and to see how supportive they were of each other. I would also look at the pregnancy after loss section and see that many women had successful pregnancies after. One day my beautiful 5 year old son and 12 year old stepdaughter will have another brother or sister....or both :)

Today I have for you, China Glaze liquid leather. This is the perfect black. It is so creamy...if you can describe a polish like that. On my nails it definitely looks like liquid.

Makes me want to drink it...lol...well not really but you get my point. I love the look of black polish on my nails.

This is what I have been looking for for the longest time now...China Glaze Strawberry Fields. My Sally's finally got it back in stock, so I picked it up along with a few other colors :). This is the most beautiful deep hot pink I've ever seen. It has gold shimmer which makes me love it even more. Check the colors out on http://www.sallybeauty.com/

China Glaze For Audrey

Ive had this lovely for about almost a year now. I heard about this specific color on YouTube and just had to have it. Luckily they had just one left at Sally's. This color is a robin's egg blue...it's suppose to resemble the trademarked "Tiffany blue "color.

To me, this is like a pop of color on my brown skin. This makes my hands stand out so I loooovvvveee wearing this color...even on my toes. This is a color I would keep a back up of soooo off to Sally's I go. :) But not until Friday because I just received my 15% off next purchase coupon in the mail yesterday.

Onto a non polish subject, this is a picture I took two days after Hurricane Irene swooped through. Our power was off for 2 days and with a five year old that's a little difficult to deal with because I had to keep him occupied constantly...so there was a lot of construction paper and gluesticks involved.
But this is the morning after. The neighbors tree fell...luckily not towards the garage/mini living room. The roots ripped the fence up into the air and the tree damaged some more of the fence behind the garage. But Hurricane Irene left behind a lot of deaths and damages and I pray for all the families involved and hope everyone can come together in this time of need and help one another.

Pink Wednesday China Glaze Naked

I know you all are going to think I'm crazy but I changed my mani today. :) I confess, I went into Sally's today. My intention was to pick up Strawberry fields but that spot was empty and I saw another beautiful pink but it didnt have a barcode on the bottom. Well I bought it anyway and did some research when I got home to find out what color it is and it's Naked...

OMG...when I look at this color, I think of a hot barbie pink. It has the slightest shimmer. I think this will now be added to my favorites. I can see myself wearing this one a lot. Maybe in a few more days I might use my Hello Kitty plate and add a picture on my nail. You should go pick this one up for sure.

China Glaze Grape Juice

So this morning, I was sitting around thinking that it's time for me to change my polish and what do you know...i chose another purple. This time it's China Glaze Grape Juice. Now I love China Glaze. They have so many colors and I find myself always drawn to them everytime I go in Sally's...even if I'm not there for polish :). So on one of my trips to Sally's, I picked up Grape Juice. Grape Juice is from the Summer Days collection of 2009.

Can you say BEAUTIFUL! I really do have a thing for purples. It a beautiful purple with silver glitter. The formula is very easy to work with. This was two coats which is perfect. Now I'm off to go stare at my nails :) and possibly take a trip to Sally's to pick up some more China Glaze.

Dots

Ive seen pictures of manis with dots using a nail template(cant remember which one) but since I dont have any templates, I decided to recreate it on my own. I didnt want an over the top mani so I settled for some non-flashy colors.

O.P.I. Skull and Glossbones, O.P.I. Ate berries in the canaries, China Glaze Shower Together, China Glaze For Audrey

Im always drawn to Skull and Glossbones if I cant think of what to paint my nails. It the perfect shade of gray for me. I wanted a pop of something on the nail so I went with dots. The colors are real pretty together. I wonder what they would look like water marbled...I will try that soon. What's your go to polish if you cant figure out what color to paint your nails?

Happy Fourth...featuring China Glaze Frostbite

Im very excited about my first post ever. Ive been thinking about starting a blog for the longest time. So finally here I am! I got this idea from Let them have Polish. I used China Glaze frostbite and on my ring fingers, I used Butter London Pearly Queen. Over those I used OPI Silver Shatter. I really love this royal blue. I think it compliments my skintone. Hope you Enjoy!
